The South African Boat Builders Export Council (SABBEX) is inviting members to submit urgent expressions of interest to exhibit at the International Multihull Show 2027 in La Grande Motte, France.
The call follows confirmation that the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) is considering establishing an official National Pavilion for the event. A sanctioned pavilion unlocks substantial government trade funding to promote the local sector and expand our international footprint.
Held annually on the French Mediterranean coast, La Grande Motte is the world’s premier dedicated in-water exhibition for sailing and power catamarans. Attracting global buyers, brokerage firms, and charter fleet operators, the show provides local multihull builders with a direct, high-impact portal into key European and international export markets.
South Africa has been invited to participate as the Show’s first-ever Guest Country of Honour, an historic invitation reflecting SA’s current status as a global leader in multihull construction.
SABBEX Executive Manager Vanessa Davidson urged members to respond without delay:
“The DTIC is considering a National Pavilion for the International Multihulls Show 2027. I urgently need to know whether you would like to participate in the show next year April. With a National Pavilion, there is funding available, but we need early commitment from exhibitors and an expected ROI for the DTIC. All inputs most welcome.”
