The Simon’s Town Marina Company recently installed ten new swing moorings to create additional capacity specifically for visiting international cruising yachts, the Ocean Sailing Association of Southern Africa announced in their latest newsletter.
“This initiative forms part of an ongoing effort to make False Bay Yacht Club more welcoming and accessible to offshore sailors travelling our coastline,” OSASA says.
The new installations will help ease pressure on existing berths by providing safe and reliable mooring options. They will also provide a springboard for visiting international guests to engage with the local sailing community. “This development is a positive step toward strengthening False Bay Yacht Club’s reputation as a hospitable destination for visiting yachts and supporting the broader cruising network,” OSASA says.
