It’s smooth sailing for Balance Catamarans that is stacking up production milestones faster than one of its famed voyaging hulls through the South Atlantic. In his latest yard update founder Phil Berman says the company is well on track to splash 25 catamarans this year from its two South African facilities, in Cape Town and Cape St Francis.

This year will also see the launch of Balance’s latest flagship model, the Balance 750, as well as the Balance 580.  The first two 750 hulls are sold, with hull three due to commence construction in December 2025, Balance says in a separate mid-year production update.  The first 580 hulls are sold, with hull seven also due to commence construction in December 2025.

In his commentary Berman also pays tribute to his company’s workplace diversity, which he says is faithful to Nelson Mandela’s vision of a Rainbow Nation:  “There is a flourishing racial and cultural diversity that Mandela had dreamed of…it is truly happening here at Balance. When I look at our factory floor I am so proud of the depth and diversity of the many races we employ,” Berman says.
