Knysna yard Vision Yachts launched three boats in the first quarter of 2024 as the company makes the most of its expanded new-look facility.
The factory has doubled in size over the past year, a period also marked by a noteworthy accolade – Cruising World’s Boat of the Year for 2024(Best Cruising Catamaran Under 50ft). That’s a stellar start to the year by anybody’s standards.
The three new launches, hulls #14, #15 and #16, all have American owners. Two are destined to sail to the Caribbean and one to Madagascar before heading back home to the US. “Our order book is very healthy with production looking good and on track,” Vision said in response to SABBEX queries.
The impressive production is due partly to the expanded factory footprint: “We have now fully taken over the adjacent factory and this has been up and running for quite some time. At present we have included new productions zones for final fitting, painting and commissioning which has helped us to move the boats through the final production stages in a much more efficient manner,” the company said.
