Cape Town’s Hammer Yachts has a new model in production, the HammerCat 45, with the first two hulls expected to be completed later this year.
The yard has successfully targeted the US offshore recreational fishing market with its HammerCat 35 power cat, and it now intends expanding its footprint and fleet.
To this end the company also recently signed its latest strategic partnership agreement with Cox, builders of the COX 350HP V8 diesel outboard engine.
The standout feature of HammerCat design is the sweeping Carolina bow line, which is typically associated with mono-hull sport fishing vessels.
Founded in 2018, the company owes much to the late Uwe Jaspersen who oversaw the initial production, with the first HammerCat 35 launched in 2019. Since then the yard has continued to grow and now produces about12 boats a year out of its new facility.
