Cape Town’s RIB specialist Gemini Marine has announced a major yard investment in the form of updated moulds across its RIB range.
Gemini chief executive Gerhard Neethling told SABBEX the Company is updating its product offering “with new and updated sets of production moulds across the entire Gemini range”.
“To keep our Gemini product relevant and market leading, we know that we need to up our game and provide a superior quality product continuously,” Neethling said. “We have focused on growing our in-house tooling department, to keep our products fresh and at a top quality.”
“We will continue with this mould expansion plan in 2024 to enable us to supply our very loyal Gemini customer base with the quality products they have come to know over the past 40+ years,” he said.
Over the past calendar year Gemini had completed a new set of moulds for its best-selling WR880, as well as six new console and seat moulds, and seven new hull & deck moulds. “A quality boat hull is only as good as the mould that it comes out off.”
The company introduced the WR720 to market in September last year when it completed the model’s first mould, the first new mould under the watch of the new Gemini leadership team – of Neethling and COO Juan Oberholzer. The WR720design is billed as a smaller version of Gemini’s popular Waverider 880.
Gemini expanded its facility following Covid-19 lockdown to accommodate a growing order book.
