LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER: TARIQ FENSHAM TO EXPAND FAMILY MARINE UPHOLSTERY BUSINESS
Jo Fensham has been synonymous with local yacht upholstery for over forty years. Now Tariq Fensham is poised to grow the business on the back of the rapid expansion of the South African boatbuilding industry. As of earlier this year Tariq now owns the business she has managed for the past 12 years. She recently embarked on a digitisation drive with a view to upgrading and expanding production. The company already works with most of Cape Town’s major boat builders, including Maverick Yachts, Balance Catamarans, Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing, and Robertson and Caine.
Tariq says the company intends building on her mother Jo’s success. Future plans include expanding into other boating markets, such as the commercial workboat sector.
Three leisure catamarans nominated for the latest Multihull Boat of the Year award featured Jo Fensham interiors.
