The country’s biggest yard has confirmed a new MD, Mark Bradford, who takes charge as from August 1.
The news was shared in a supplier letter circulated earlier this month. The company has since confirmed Bradford’s appointment as the company gears for a new chapter under his leadership.
“His experience spans general management, production and operations, business development, procurement, sales, marketing, and strategic leadership, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and delivering sustainable business growth,” the company says, adding that his career also spans several sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, hydraulics, telecommunications, logistics, and chemicals.
“A lifelong boating enthusiast, he now brings that personal passion into his professional life—an ideal fit for our business and industry. As Managing Director, Mark will be responsible for providing strategic direction, strengthening our market position, driving operational excellence, and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers, partners, and stakeholders.”
Prior to joining R&C, Bradford was MD of Diesel-Electric, a division of Tesuco Services.
R&C also welcomed a high-profile visitor this month – the US Ambassador to South Africa, L. Brent Bozell III. The Ambassador was given a yard tour and a brief summary of R&C’s history.
