With the support of the Western Cape Provincial Government, South African Boatbuilders Export Council proudly represented its Western Cape members at the prestigious La Grande Motte International Multihull Show this month. As part of a strategic shift toward European markets in response to the impact of recent US tariffs, SABBEX was joined by Voyage Yachts with an exhibition stand, while Vision Yachts, Balance Catamarans, and Leopard Catamarans showcased vessels in the water.
According to SABBEX Chairman Bruce Tedder, the event delivered “an extremely positive show for South African multihulls, with strong interest from buyers, dealers and suppliers looking to strengthen their relationships with South Africa.”
Participation in the 2026 show also lays the groundwork for the South Africa Country Focus Pavilion in 2027 — the first-time show organisers M2 Organisation have extended this prestigious opportunity. Tedder described it as “a golden opportunity for South Africa to take centre stage and demonstrate to Europe and the world what our industry is capable of at a premier multihull event.”
