Hammer Yachts is tweaking its flagship model as per customer demand
Cape Town powercat specialists Hammer Yachts reports a trio of new launches and new design features for its flagship model, the HammerCat 35.
The company, which now operates out of a new expanded facility, has recently launched HammerCats for buyers from Brazil, Kenya and the USA.
“Another HammerCat 35 has left our yard,” the company said in a recent Facebook post to mark the production milestone. “After some vigorous testing around the most southern tip of Africa, we are now preparing to shrink wrap the vessel before shipping on a flat-rack to Brazil.”
The boat incorporated some custom design features, in keeping with the design team’s aim of developing and implementing “a variety of new options” for the HammerCat 35. The new design options aim to enhance the original model concept of “an elegant, fast, fuel-efficient and modern power catamaran in the mid 30’ range.”
Other new features include a new three-sided glass enclosure mounted underneath the carbon fibre hardtop, which provides shelter and comes with an optional windscreen wiper. The enclosure is supported by two additional carbon fibre posts. “This option will surely be attractive to the boaters in colder climates,” the company says in its latest newsletter.
Another custom feature is a new tackle station for the updated 2023 model. “Two large tackle boxes, a 12V fridge, a real teak cutting board, 4×15 degree rod holders/cup holders and s/s grab-handles,” the newsletter said, adding that the latter innovation was aimed at serious sport fishermen. “This is yet another great example of the versatility of the HammerCat 35.”
